Atelier Swarovski

I have a love/hate relationship with rhinestones: on the one hand like a magpie I am instinctively drawn to everything that glitters on the other hand whenever I put on some bling I think it looks tacky. Some pieces from the Christopher Kane for Atelier Swarovski collection however seem just right to me (not to my wallet though) and I wouldn't mind owning the Jonathan Saunders Rubin Bracelet in black and gold. Among the other designers for the Spring/Summer collection 09 are Viktor & Rolf, Pippa Small and Doo.Ri. Swarovski was founded by Daniel Swarovski in 1895 in Wattens, Tyrol in Austria where they have remained until today. The company is run by 4th and 5th generation family members and has 22.000 employees.

Mit Strass verbindet mich eine innige Hassliebe: einerseits werde ich von allem was glitzert wie eine Elster angezogen, andererseits finde ich Strass-Schmuck meistens bieder und geschmacklos. Einige der Entwürfe von Christopher Kane für Atelier Swarovski gefallen mir aber doch sehr gut (wenn ich das Preisschild verdränge) und zum Jonathan Saunders Rubin Armband in schwarz/gold würde ich auch nicht nein sagen. Auch Viktor & Rolf, Pippa Small und Doo.Ri haben u.a. für die Sommerkollektion 09 entworfen.
