Summer Sale at Ekyog

"The Ekyog adventure started in 2003 when owners Natalie Lebas and Louis Marie Vautier got the idea of launching an organic clothing brand with a vision: “To do business and contribute to the objective that our planet will still be livable in 50 years”. To do that, Ekyog has developed its eco chic designs with three objectives: to use only organic and ecological materials, to produce according to ethical transparent processes and to create garments that are as soft and pleasant on the skin as they are on the eyes." Katharine Hamnett

I know that slogan t-shirts aren't everyone's cup of tea but if you like them then there's no way around Katharine Hamnett. PRESERVE THE RAINFORESTS, SAVE THE WORLD, SAVE THE WHALES were among the first slogans she printed on t-shirts - I have to say that I prefer her more recent designs that aren't quite so heavy-handed. In 1989 her research on the impact of the clothing and textile industry on the environment made her try to change the industry from within. After campaigning for more than a decade Hamnett was "terminally frustrated at the industry's refusal to even attempt to do things ethically and environmentally, Katharine cancels many of her licences and decides to go back into manufacturing herself." She has set up an ethical and environmentally friendly supply chain for her t-shirts which can be bought via her own webshop and numerous stockists.

Here is an excerpt from a rather amusing and very informative article about her on the guardian.co.uk: "Sometimes, listening to her, I wondered if we've been wrong all these years to believe that Lynne Franks was the inspiration for Ab Fab - much of KH is pure Edina. Take, for instance, her Anti-Anthrax Salad Dressing."

PRESERVE THE RAINFORESTS, SAVE THE WORLD, SAVE THE WHALES waren einige der ersten Slogans die sie auf T-shirts drucken ließ.

Sublet

"materials incorporated into sublet's collections include organic cotton, bamboo, hemp, silk and surplus fabrics. from inception to production, all materials used are chosen to have the lowest impact on the environment possible. in an effort to support the local economy, sublet's garments are manufactured in the united states in factories that adhere to fair labor standards." (quoted from www.subletclothing.com)

Sublet can be bought via their own webshop (a lot of items are on sale right now) or take a look at the list of online shops on their website.
