Minimal wardrobe - part I

Sometimes I think about what it would be like to start a wardrobe from scratch and how many items one actually needs. Also: can everyone afford to buy only fairly made clothes? Obviously not but how much money do you actually need to do that?

Here is a list of 19 pieces from Garance that I will try to illustrate with fairly made clothes within the next days. I think her list works well for many months of the year when you live in a temperate climate. Sure, it's not for everyone's taste - go ahead, make your own list and please leave it in a comment:

1 black cashmere turtleneck
1 grey cashmere v-neck
3 (silk) shirts
3 pairs of flats
1 pair of high heels
2 pairs of skinny jeans
boyfriend jeans
2 blazers (black, navy)
straight-cut skirt
1 scarf
1 dress
1 coat
1 light-weight parka

"And I’d go wild with accessories. A hat. Red socks. A pair of amazing sunglasses. A purse to die for. Bright nail-polish." (www.garancedore.fr)

Ekyog: fall/winter 2011/2012

"The Ekyog adventure started in 2003 when owners Natalie Lebas and Louis Marie Vautier got the idea of launching an organic clothing brand with a vision: "To do business and contribute to the objective that our planet will still be livable in 50 years". To do that, Ekyog has developed its eco chic designs with three objectives: to use only organic and ecological materials, to produce according to ethical transparent processes and to create garments that are as soft and pleasant on the skin as they are on the eyes." (quoted from www.ecofashionworld.com - click the link for the full article) The French brand is available via Ekyog's own webshop however they currently only ship to France, Belgium, Monaco and Luxemburg. I am looking forward to visiting their shop in Paris in January 2012.

Annie Larson knitted hats

Wonderful hats by Annie Larson handmade on a Brother KH-965i knitting machine in Brooklyn.
Just wondering whether they would be warm enough for the arctic winters we have in Berlin because they are cotton knit?

Ich frage mich nur ob die Dinger warm genug für den arktischen Winter sind, den wir in Berlin bald haben werden?
