I wish I could visit Finland and meet Piksi, Irene Adler and go to the Midnight Sun Film Festival. So much wonderfulness originates from Finland: Kaurismäki, Moomins, Aalto, Finnish Tango, Marimekko, Nanso: "Nanso, since its beginnings as a dyehouse [in 1921], has gradually grown over the decades to achieve its current status as the second largest company in the Finnish clothing industry. Nanso products are the creations of local designers, produced with respect for nature and human dignity. [...] Nanso [...] makes all its products locally - from thread, to fabric, and all the way to the final product - at its plant in the town of Nokia in Finland. [...] Last year, Nanso introduced a collection made from Fairtrade Cotton, the first of its kind in the Nordic countries. [...] The Fairtrade Cotton used in this collection, which is manufactured in Finland, comes from Cameroon in Western Africa. The cotton is spun into thread in Turkey. Ich wünschte, ich könnte nach Finnland reisen, Piksi und Irene Adler treffen und das Midnight Sun Festival besuchen. Finnland ist zauberhaft: Kaurismäki, die Mumins, Aalto, Finnischer Tango, Marimekko und Nanso. Das Unternehmen Nanso wurde 1921 als Lohnfärberei gegründet und ist mittlerweile das zweitgrößte Bekleidungsunternehmen Finnlands. Die Nanso Kollektionen werden von finnischen Designern entworfen und in Finnland produziert. 2007 wurde die erste Fairtrade Baumwollkollektion vorgestellt. Die Baumwolle kommt aus Kamerun und wird in der Türkei versponnen. Langfristig sollen alle Nanso Produkte aus Fairtrade Baumwolle hergestellt werden, sagt CEO Pertti Lahervuori.

Summer Sale at Quail

Quail was launched by Shauna Chapman and Jason Clark in 2006 and is based in South Devon. Quail's classic tailored designs are made in England with organic fair trade handloomed fabrics like cotton and silk from India and handloomed (!) tweed from Scotland. They also use South African Shweshwe Cotton as well as Ghanaian and Indonesian batiks (look at their website to find out more about these).

I highly recommend to check out these wonderful clothes. They ship internationally.

Quail wurde 2006 von Shauna Chapman and Jason Clark in der Grafschaft South Devon gegründet. Die klassisch geschnittene Mode des Labels Quail wird in England produziert und verarbeitet fair gehandelte handgewebte Bio-Stoffe aus Baumwolle und Seide (aus Indien) sowie handgewebten (!) Tweed (aus Schottland). Außerdem werden traditionell hergestellte Sheshwe Baumwollstoffe aus Südafrika und Batikstoffe aus Ghana und Indonesien verwendet (mehr Informationen zu diesen Stoffen findet ihr auf der Webseite).
