Julia Smith - Made in Africa

I just love, love, love these batik pieces and the story behind them is even better: "‘Julia Smith Made in Africa' supports lives in Ghana through the vision of Mrs. Marian Essel, a highly skilled batik printer from Ghana, West Africa. [...] Marian and Julia Smith have now formed a co-operative in the suburbs of Accra, Ghana's capital city, offering employment opportunities to a struggling community." The only thing that's raining on my parade is that I don't think I would buy these online (available at www.ascensiononline.com and www.fashion-conscience.com) because the placement of the prints must be so different from piece to piece. Lucky UK readers who have a chance to look at these in person here.
